A Sacred Holding Space for Grief
A Sacred Holding Space for Grief

Center for Grief
The Sacred Fire of Shared Survival In the rhythm of the Jeju Haenyeo, the ocean’s depths hold both profound beauty and staggering cold. Grief often pulls us into similarly freezing, isolating waters. At Bulteok, we do not expect you to hold your breath alone or navigate the darkness without an anchor. Deeply inspired by the pioneering communal care models of the original Grief House in Portland, OR, and Decatur, GA, we offer a sacred fire—a holding space where the ache of loss is met with the warmth of shared presence. Here, we gather to catch our breath, share our burdens, and trust that surviving the depths is not a solitary endeavor, but a grace we sustain together.

At Bulteok, our vision is to create a community where we cultivate a relational sanctuary
where the traditional authority of
the pulpit is replaced by the sacred
authority of communal experience.

An intercultural, intergenerational
sanctuary equipping individuals to
care for one another through the art
of spiritual companioning.

Honoring Hanpuri-the intentional
unraveling of accumulated grief into
shared liberation, especially amidst
intercultural shifts.
